Tsinghua-PAA Impact Summit Closing Remarks by Mr Shaun Seow, CEO, PAA

Good afternoon, everyone. Thank you, Professor Yang Bin and Desmond.

I will keep this short.

At the Philanthropy Asia Summit in May, I ended my remarks by saying we hoped to welcome you in Beijing.

I am glad you came.

For PAA, this week’s Summit is the start of a growing relationship with China's vibrant impact sector.

We will deepen our engagement here, to exchange ideas with Chinese funders and innovators, and to bring more of our members into that conversation.

At the same time, we hope that our partners in China will be able to share their experience with the rest of Asia.

PAA will play its part as a bridge, connecting funders and practitioners across the region with their counterparts in China.

Over the coming weeks, our team will follow up with many of you to help turn today's introductions into opportunities for collaboration.

My thanks to Professor Bai Chong-En, Professor Yang Bin and the Tsinghua University team, especially our colleagues at the School of Economics and Management, for hosting us so well.

Thank you to all our speakers for sharing their experience and ideas so generously.

We are grateful to Temasek Trust for its support, and to our key event partners, which include Tencent Foundation, SEE Foundation, the Corporate Philanthropy Action Network, Dalberg, and AIIB.

Our thanks also go to the organisations opening their doors for the Impact Journeys over the next two days, and to everyone who brought their innovations to the Tech for Impact demos

One request before I let you go.

Please save the date.

From 11 to 13 May 2027, the Philanthropy Asia Summit returns to Singapore for its seventh edition.

For those who have not joined us before, the Summit is PAA's annual flagship, where we bring together more than 2,500 global funders, partners and changemakers to tackle Asia's biggest challenges.

This year, more than 30 organisations from China joined us, our strongest Chinese presence yet. Their participation shows what PAA's bridge between China and the rest of Asia can make possible.

Next year, we want that number to grow even further.

We also want the lessons of this week to reach the Summit’s stages.

Many of you are best placed to share them, and we hope you will.

明年五月，期待在新加坡与各位再相聚。

For those joining the Impact Journeys, the coaches leave early tomorrow. I visited most of the sites during our recce and came away inspired, and I think you will feel the same.

Enjoy the evening, and thank you.
